Magical moments for Christmas in Leicester
Christmas in Leicester promises you a host of magical moments
It starts on 22nd November with the Big Lights Switch-On. With shops open late, an LED drummer parade and DJ performance at the Haymarket, the 50ft tree and 16,000 sparkling lights to light up Leicester. Glide round the real ice rink sponsored by GEM radio from 7th December, with tickets from £5. Open Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Next to the ice rink from 17th November is the 110ft Wheel of Light, offering spectacular views across Leicester City Centre for £7, or £20 for families.
In Town Hall Square see the traditional nativity scene and Santa Claus in his magical free Grotto through to 23rd December! In Humberstone Gate enjoy all the fun of the Billy Bates Christmas Fair. From Thursday 16th November to 24th December, explore Abbey Park in a new way with the enchanting Enlightened Leicester light trail. At the bottom of New Walk experience Emergence, an immersive audio- visual experience.
