The National Trust's Summer of Play returns to Plymouth

Across Plymouth, National Trust places are bursting with family fun as the ever-popular Summer of Play returns for the school holidays - and this year it’s supported by Pokémon.

Set out on a mega adventure at Saltram in Plymouth as the Pokémon Trading Card Game Mega Evolution Trail invites families to head outdoors and explore the garden. Team up to search for Mega Evolution Pokémon, discover their powers and complete your own challenges.

Alongside the trail, Saltram’s maritime‑themed Summer of Play brings non-stop creative and active fun - from navigating imaginary seas to designing your own flag or stepping into the spotlight to put on a show.

At Buckland Abbey near Yelverton, families can dive into a swashbuckling Summer of Play as pirates and privateers compete to recover treasure with ship‑building, bucket ball, archery and pirate trivia.

Cotehele near Saltash celebrates a Very Royal Summer of Play inspired by historic royal visits, with crown‑making, palace‑building and hobby‑horse racing.

Summer of Play runs throughout the summer holidays and is included with normal admission (free entry for National Trust members and all under 5s). No need to book. Visit the website for dates and opening times. Summer of Play is supported by Pokémon.
