Find Your Story with The Works

The Works is inviting children and their families to celebrate the joy of reading with Find Your Story – a fun-filled campaign supporting the National Year of Reading 2026.

At the heart of Find Your Story is giving children the confidence to choose the books they’re most excited about. From daring adventures and laugh‑out‑loud characters to fascinating facts, fantasy worlds and favourite hobbies, the campaign encourages young readers to explore reading their way – helping to spark imagination, build confidence and develop essential literacy skills along the way.

Families can explore a wide range of affordable books at their local The Works store, with friendly teams on hand to help young readers find their next read. Families can also visit the Find Your Story Book Bus, packed with an onboard library, hands-on activities and exciting character meet‑and‑greets. Best of all, every child gets to take home a free book of their very own. The tour kicked off at Wythenshawe Forum Centre on 9th April, with plenty more stops planned.
