Blue Cross national pet charity is celebrating the 20th anniversary its schools’ programme with a new fundraising campaign launching this Autumn 2025.
Pennies for Pets is a fun and meaningful way for children to help pets by doing small chores for family and friends in return for pennies to donate to Blue Cross.
The helpful chores could include washing the dishes, setting up the dinner table or cleaning the family car.
The campaign is a great opportunity to teach children the value of helping others, whilst making a real difference to the lives of pets in need.
Every penny donated will go a long way. For example, £2 could help keep a cat warm and safe, £10 could buy clippers to trim a dog’s claw, whilst £30 could pay for a horse’s dental check.
Pennies for Pets will launch in September 2025 as primary schools and youth groups across the country return after the summer holidays.
If you have children, grandchildren, or know primary school teachers who might like their pupils to take part, the full details can be found on our Blue Cross website.
Sue Malin, our Education Marketing Officer, said: “Pennies for Pets will be an exciting campaign and we’re really looking forward to it. We’re combining education and fundraising to help pets in need.”
