Tesco Extends National Fruit & Veg For Schools Programme
Great news for pupils and parents! With Tesco having announced that its Fruit & Veg for Schools programme will be extended for another year, this brings free, healthy snacks to even more schools across the UK in the 2025–2026 academic year.
Launched in September 2024 as part of Tesco’s Stronger Starts initiative, the programme provides free fruit and vegetables from local Tesco stores to children who may not always get enough fresh produce. It’s part of Tesco’s mission to help families across the UK and support healthier habits.
Tesco is now committing an extra £4 million to continue the scheme, with funding targeted at schools where over 50% of pupils receive free school meals. That means more apples, carrots, and cucumbers in classrooms – and more nutritious energy to help children learn, play, and grow!
