EXPLORE LEARNING LAUNCHES NEW AT-HOME SERVICE TO KEEP EDUCATION GOING

Maths and English tuition provider Explore Learning has launched ‘Explore at Home’ – a new online learning service that will allow children across the UK to meet their educational goals from home.

Available to those aged between 4-14, each child will have a weekly, hour-long, 1:1 session with an expert centre tutor. This is tailored to their educational needs and aligned to the national curriculum, giving support and peace of mind to parents educating their children at home.

In this session, children will work through their own individual courses, with online face to face support from the tutor and feedback will be provided to both children and their parents at the end. This ensures that children can continue to enjoy their education and make progress outside of a classroom setting, and gives parents peace of mind regarding potential learning loss.

Explore at Home provides remote and unlimited access to an individual online learning course, along with a whole range of downloadable resources that will support each child at their specific level.

Parents will also have regular progress meetings with a manager from their centre team to ensure their children are supported emotionally and academically through this tricky time.

In addition to the one-to-one session covering Explore at Home’s Maths and English offering, the Specialist Courses Creative writing, Succeed in Secondary and the Eleven Plus will be available for members. These will be delivered by tutors in a 6:1 ratio.

Explore Learning is now offering virtual ‘get to know you’ sessions for interested parents. These interactive sessions allow tutors to really connect with each parent and child, and understand their preferred learning style and educational goals. Children will also work through a number of sample questions and exercises, giving them a taste of the amazing resources on offer.

In line with the launch of Explore at Home, and to offer further help to parents teaching their children at home, celebrity mathematician Bobby Seagull will be running free Mid-Morning Maths sessions live streamed via Explore Learning’s official Facebook channel.

Starting Monday 6 April at 10am, the lessons will be available to all parents, not just Explore Learning members. The Mid-Morning Maths sessions will last 30 minutes, with a 15 minute Q&A with Bobby for parents at the end, and will cover one topic across a week. The lessons will be tailored to children aged 4-7 on Mondays, 7-11 on Wednesdays, and 11-14 on Fridays.

What’s more, children will be set regular “Bobby Brainteasers” that will be published on social media channels to keep them thinking overnight.

Celebrity mathematician Bobby Seagull said: “It is crucial that children keep learning and keep their minds sharp while they can’t attend school. I truly hope that my Mid-Morning Maths sessions with Explore Learning can help parents make that possible, keeping the sense of curiosity and investigation alive despite these difficult times.”

Bill Mills, CEO of Explore Learning, said: “Over the coming weeks, providing the proper educational support for children is going to be front of mind for many parents in such uncertain times. With ‘Explore at Home’ we have been able to replicate our winning in-centre formula to ensure that children across the UK can log on, enjoy learning and keep their educational goals alive.”
