Unique and colourful new CBeebies preschool animation based on construction and problem solving

An irresistible, smart, fun and funny take on classic themes of construction and problem-solving for preschoolers, new CBeebies animation Tinpo follows the colourful adventures of Tinpo and his team – the wildly imaginative problem solvers for the citizens of Tinpotown. Brand new episodes of this colourful new series start on CBeebies on Monday 28th January.

The 78 x 7’ series, encourages young children to think outside the box – just like Team Tinpo, the local heroes of the community who are devoted to each other and to the larger goal of creating a better, more fun world.

Tinpo, Doug-Po, Logi-Po and Hack-Po are smart and creative inventors who are always ready to hop onto the Tinpo train and answer the call of any Tinpotown resident who needs a helping hand. Though hard-working and good-hearted, the other Po aren’t as clever, creative or resourceful as Team Tinpo, who consequently get regularly called upon to solve all manner of problems – whether it’s simply rescuing a lost dog or something more complicated, like stopping clouds from spoiling a sunny day or finding a way to get the townsfolk past a mountain to the funfair.

Using comedic trial-and-error, Team Tinpo keep asking “What if we tried this…?” until the job is done. Working together, using their cool and fantastical tools, they design and construct solutions that, while rarely the most practical, are always the most creative and unexpected – putting the “fun” into “function”.

Big hearted and with big ideas, Tinpo is passionate about improving Tinpotown and making it as enjoyable as possible for his fellow Po. In Tinpo’s world, the laws of physics are a little bit stretched and bent beyond reality, resulting in innovations that are always surprising, always unconventional – and always awesome.

But he doesn’t work alone. Doug-Po embraces the unplanned and unexpected; Hack-Po is the pilot and communications expert who is great at seeing the bigger picture; and Logi-Po will always go the extra mile to make sure a job is fine-tuned to perfection.

Tinpo isn’t just about having great ideas – it’s about getting excited over ideas, about the joy of creation, and remaining curious. The series aims to inspire viewers to feel that anything is possible and that they, like Tinpo, have the capability to improve the world around them in fresh and inspiring ways, and can aspire to great things by partnering imagination and inspiration with persistence, optimism and a bit of “grit”.

“Tinpo puts a clever twist on construction and problem-solving in a fresh and exciting way that we’re confident will appeal to both boys and girls,” said Sarah Legg-Barratt, Producer for BBC Children’s Acquisitions and Animation. “Co-story editors/head-writers Davey Moore (Thomas & Friends) and Emma Hogan (creator of Nelly & Nora) have done an incredible job of developing a series in which the core values of respect for other’s ideas and teamwork sit comfortably alongside finding solutions which are never the most practical but rather the most creative, surprising and fun.”

“Team Tinpo’s approach to problem-solving and construction uses comedic trial-and-error that we’ve never before seen in a preschool series,” said Karen Vermeulen, Head of Global Distribution and Co-Productions for CloudCo. “As a master of tech, Tinpo has a device that permits his team to interact with virtual projections so that they can try out all his wild ideas until arriving at the right one for the job.”

Tinpo is a co-production from CloudCo Entertainment, OLM and Dentsu Japan for CBeebies.
