How Christingle helps your school

For 50 years now, in schools all across the country, children and adults have come together to celebrate Christingle with The Children’s Society. People from every community have joined one another to light Christingle candles and hold collections to raise vital funds that allow vulnerable children to enjoy a first Christmas free from fear.

Christingle is a joyous, inclusive event that helps to teach your pupils a number of important curriculum subjects, including communication and language development, spiritual development, cultural development and religious education.

To make it easy for your school to put on a spectacular 50th anniversary Christingle, we’ve created an exciting free guide full of advice and tips for schools for holding a moving and memorable celebration. Inside the guide you’ll also find details of our free teaching resources to support your pupils’ learning and creativity – including assembly plans and fun activities – that you can tailor to your school’s particular needs.

A Christingle service is a fantastic way for your school to bring your pupils, parents and community together to share in the joy of Christmas and support vulnerable children.

We want to make the 50th anniversary of Christingle the biggest and best yet, so we can help even more children. We’d love for your school to join us for our celebrations, so if you’d like to find out more or order a free guide, visit christingle.org
