This October Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity is calling on Primary Times readers to get baking and help raise vital dough
Bake it Better Week kicks off on October 17, when amateur bakers of all abilities are being called upon to rise to the challenge and take part. Whether baking it or faking it, every bake sale will make a huge difference to thousands of seriously ill children from across the UK.
Now in its sixth year, budding bakers are once again being championed to create tempting treats to sell at home, in the office or at school, in a bid to raise money for the charity.
To kick start Bake it Better week (17-23 October 2016), Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity has put together a super fundraising kit, jam-packed full of bunting, cake toppers, posters, celebrity and patient recipes, baking themed games, stickers and top tips to ensure every bake sale is a sweet success.
Laura Savory, Head of Community Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity, said: “The great thing about Bake it Better is that everyone can get involved - whether it’s at school, in the office or at home. Every bake sale, no matter how big or how small, will help us make a real difference for so many seriously ill young patients and their families from across the UK.”
Money raised will help Great Ormond Street Hospital to provide world-class care for young patients and their families. Money raised could help with the rebuilding of the hospital, supporting ground-breaking research, funding the most up-to-date equipment and providing accommodation and other support services for children and their families.
