Quite probably largest free medieval-themed festival returns to Tewkesbury with re-enactors brought together to bring to life the Battle of Tewkesbury when, in 1471, the House of York defeated the House of Lancaster in one of the most decisive battles in the War of the Roses. Knights in armour, ordinary soldiers and townsfolk take to the field, giving you the chance to also find out more about medieval life in general. Free.
