Devon, Torbay and Plymouth Libraries update - autumn 2020

There have been a lot of changes in how libraries are currently operating their services in response to the ongoing pandemic.  Many locations have now reopened albeit with changes to opening hours, facilities and with social distancing guidelines in place.

Devon Libraries

90% of libraries across the Devon local authority area have reopened at the time of writing with a range of services.  Totnes and Topsham and offering Choose and Collect only at this time and Salcombe and Chulmleigh are still closed.
 
You will find that they are likely to be operating different open times than they have done previously and that social distancing measures will be in place.  To find out more about the arrangements and facilities that are available at your local library visit their a-z guide or their individual social media pages as many locations have their own Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.
 
It is possible to join for free and online at home.  Visit the children’s mini-site for more information about resources, activities and different ways that the younger members of your family can interact with their local library, even in these challenging times, both in-store and online.
 
As usual, there are still a number of online services available including e-books, audiobooks, magazines and reference subscriptions.

Torbay Libraries

All libraries in the Torbay  area are now open.  See the online list to find out specifically about the opening hours and facilities for your local library.  You may also be able to find individual social media channels for your particular library on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram with regular updates.

Plymouth Libraries

Most local libraries have now reopened with Crownhill, North Prospect and Peverell libraries reopening from Monday 12 October.
 
Each library will be probably working to different opening hours and days.
 
There are still a variety of digital services that you can access including eBooks and eAudiobooks as well as free magazines, comics and newspapers
