WIN one of ten sunburn awareness kits, by signing up the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code, a FREE resource designed to support provision of sun protection to KS2 children
Closing Date: 7th June 2022
Watch out, SUNBURN’S about!
With school sports days looming, we understand the challenge of keeping everyone safe, which includes raising awareness of sun protection to so many attendees. More than ever, we are aware of the risks of too much sun, from heatstroke, to dehydration and of course, the dangers of sunburn, which can double the risk of melanoma in later life.
To make your task easy, the Melanoma Fund created the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code, a FREE accreditation resource written by experts and supported by over 120 national governing bodies of sport. On signing up, you will be provided with a toolkit of materials to use throughout summer for all your outdoor activity, allowing you to communicate effectively with children, parents and staff. You can also use the Sun-Sorted! quiz as an education tool to help children discover why sun protection is important, a key element in creating good habits.
To provide a light-hearted approach to an important issue, the Melanoma Fund is offering 10 schools that sign up the campaign this month, a free SUNBURN awareness kit to be used at your sports day event. Featuring their new SUNBURN mascot, the charity aims is to bring the message around avoiding sunburn alive, and engage people of all ages on sun protection. They will provide instructions on how to implement the activity, plus 200 x 10g tubes of SunSense sunscreen for all attending, and educational leaflets to keep everyone informed and safe.
To WIN, sign up to the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code HERE and then email info@melanoma-fund.co.uk with Primary Times SUNBURN in the subject. All will go into a prize draw on the 8th June and kits will be sent soon after.
