AYLESBURY’S QUEENS PARK ARTS CENTRE REOPENS WITH CHRISTMAS SHOP

Aylesbury’s Queens Park Arts Centre has reopened following the November lockdown, with its programme of COVID-secure workshops joined by a special pop-up Christmas shop, open for two weeks only.

The shop includes an eclectic selection of handmade art and craft from a variety of local artists and makers, with items including bespoke ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glassware, illustrations and literature.

“We’re delighted to be reopening once again with our COVID-mitigation procedures in place,” says Sarah Lewis, artistic director of QPAC. “Alongside our workshops we’re thrilled to announce the return of our pop-up shop – a perfect opportunity to pick up a unique Christmas gift (or even a festive treat-to-self!).”

The shop will be open until Friday 18th December, when the Centre closes for the Christmas holidays. Full details of QPAC’s opening days and times are available at their website, www.qpc.org.

“We hope the shop helps spread a little bit of much-needed Christmas cheer,” says Sarah. “It’s also a wonderful way of supporting local independent artists at the end of difficult year for the arts industry.”

Curated by the Centre’s Exhibitions and Events Coordinator Sophie Carr, work on sale in the shop includes ceramics from Katy Leigh, Charlie Butters and Carlotta Tonello, jewellery from Loretta Dwane, various publications from Rough Trade Books and work by Guy Morris, Jess White, Kelly Vincent, Gill Witty and ‘Polka Dots and Roses’.

COVID-secure measures have been implemented for the shop, with a one-way system and maximum capacity in place alongside QPAC’s additional cleaning procedures and updated protocols regarding ensuring the venue operates in a COVID-secure way.
