Webber independent school wins the 2019 national schools badminton championships!
The nation’s 36 best school teams fiercely competed for titles in the finals weekend with Webber’s KS3 boys taking first place
On Sunday 5th May, The Webber Independent KS3 boys’ team: Ritvik Srenigan, Ethan Hosken, Yash Singh and Ibrahim Kulkarni took to the court at The National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes to play in the final of the National Schools Championships. The competition was packed with high quality players focused on taking home the crowning title. On the day, The Webber Independent team took part in 20 matches, winning 18 of them. Match results detailed below.
Ross Knapper, PE Teacher at the Webber Independent School and Team Manager, comments:
“The energy and skilful play our boys displayed on Sunday was impressive. The entire team have shown a lot of dedication throughout the championships, and their performance directly reflects their effort and focus. The win on Sunday was an earned and thoroughly deserved victory.”

“I would like congratulate and commend the boys for their passion and commitment to their sport. These young athletes really do go above and beyond; they work tirelessly and give their all to their badminton training as well as their education. A big thank you to Sara Sankey and Darren Adamson for the amazing coaching they deliver to our scholars on the Badminton Programme at Webber.”
