Step into a world of imagination, play and magic at the British Library

Fairy Tales, a brand-new family exhibition, opens on 27th March until 23rd August 2026, just a short walk from King’s Cross station.

This enchanting experience invites children (and their grown-ups) to discover some of their most loved childhood tales.

Discover familiar favourites including Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Aladdin and Cinderella through colourful illustrations, interactive displays and unexpected twists.

Sit down at the three bears’ breakfast table, whisper a wish to the genie and sniff the witch’s bubbling potions!

Recommended for children aged 3–10, Fairy Tales celebrates the magic of storytelling from around the world.

This exhibition is supported by Wayland Games.
