Ealing Local Schools Maths Competition
On Wednesday 6thFebruary Harvington Prep School hosted a local school maths challenge for the top six local schools in the area.
Ten boys and/or girls were selected by their respective schools, to take part in what became a vibrant, passionate and energetic afternoon of skill, aptitude and speed. Pupils were selected from Notting Hill & Ealing High School, St Augustine’s, St Benedict’s, Durston House, Clifton Lodge and North Ealing Primary took their places and the challenge began.
This was an amazing opportunity to bring together, children of the same age to mingle and to share in their passion for mathematical problem solving.
After 3 rounds and 2 hours later the results were in:
1st Harvington Prep School
2nd– Harvington Prep School
3rd– Clifton Lodge
4th– Durston House
We are delighted that our girls came in both 1st and 2nd position and the jubilant atmosphere at Harvington was overwhelming! This is a great moment too, to celebrate our choice of the Singapore Maths scheme that all our Year 6 girls have been taught, since they were in Year 1.
We would like to congratulate all who participated for their skill, their expertise and their excellent performance. This was a memorable day - and a day to reflect on the wonderful community of Harvington - the excellent teaching, the loyal families and the most talented, charming and accomplished ‘young ladies’ of Harvington - our lovely girls!
