ArtsFest will come to life at Westfield London on Friday, 12 June with a schedule of performances, music and dance. A local festival, ArtsFest promotes and celebrates the cultural richness in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. From classical Indian dancing to the vibrant sounds of Brazilian samba drumming, ArtsFest at Westfield London has something to keep everyone entertained.
3-3:15pm, The Atrium
Children aged between 7- 11 years old from schools in the Hammersmith and Fulham borough have been working together to prepare a mass choir performance. Hundreds of local children will perform uplifting classics and number one hits to Westfield shoppers.
3:15-3:30pm, The Atrium
Children from local schools have joined forces to create a performance especially for Westfield shoppers. The children will showcase their rhythm skills with the vibrant sound of Brazilian samba drumming.
Classical Indian dancing by The Bhavan Dance Institute:
5:30 – 6:30pm, The Atrium
The Bhavan Institute will present three styles of Classical Indian dance in full regalia. From South India, the ancient fiery dance, Bharatnatyam; from the north, the fast-moving, graceful Kathak; and from the east, the flowing Odissi. Visitors to Westfield London will experience vibrant performances full of colour, vitality and artistry.
Scariofunk Hip Hop:
7-8:30pm, The Atrium
The Scariofunk Collective CIC, a local troupe of street dancers, will perform an interactive performance filled with fun and laughter. The performances will feature electrifying routines from their beginner, general, advance and elite teams.
8 – 14 June, The Atrium
Throughout ArtsFest, poetry and prose from local artist Jack Jones will be displayed in various locations around the centre showcasing his thought provoking and reflective work.
