Make the Most of May Half Term at Morden Hall Park

This May half term, families can dive into the magic of the River Wandle with a week buzzing with wildlife, creativity, and riverside adventure that visitors of all ages will enjoy.

Kick off the break with a Weekend of Wildlife (22nd–24th May), packed with free activities celebrating the creatures that call the park home. Drop by the Gazebo by the White Bridge to meet the rangers and explore the miniature worlds thriving around the Wandle. Budding ecologists can join their small‑mammal surveying sessions, setting humane traps at dusk (Fri 22nd) and returning at dawn (Sat 23rd) to count what they find – booking essential.

Then step into imaginative play at the River Wandle Wildlife workshop on 25th May, or later in the week, delight in water‑themed tales and crafts inspired by Mami Wata, the African goddess of water (Thu 28th).

Round off the week with Upstream, a spectacular outdoor puppetry performance (30th–31st May), or get creative with river dipping and nature art during London Rivers Week (Sun 31st).

Throughout half term, there’s also Henry the Heron’s Riverbank self-led trail. £3 from the Garden Centre or Café.

See website to book workshops and puppet theatre.
