Missy, Stanley and the Flood – free storybook for schools

Join Missy and Stanley on an extraordinary adventure that begins when flooding arrives at their home. This beautifully illustrated story provides a gentle, accessible way into conversations about what happens during a flood, and how families can be better prepared. Don’t worry – it has a happy ending!

The book is supported by child-friendly, downloadable activities and information available via the BeFloodWarned website.

Copies of the book are being sent to primary schools in East Sussex, but other child and family-focused groups can request a free copy via the Blue Heart website.

Many parts of Sussex are at high risk of flooding. Blue Heart want to make sure that everyone is aware, prepared, and confident that they can recover, if and when it happens.

This project is funded by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programmes which are managed by the Environment Agency. The programmes will drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate.
