Bluebell Railway

Their 2022 Road meets Rail event will be taking place 28-30 May at Horsted Keynes Station. From Monday 30th May Kids travel for £1. On 28 and 29 May, step back in time for a weekend of steam powered demonstrations and vintage fairground fun! Traction engines, road rollers, steam wagons, showman’s engines, crane engines and more… bringing Horsted Keynes station to life with recreations of a bygone age. See how road building, wood sawing, timber haulage and lifting were carried out in the early 1900s. Experience fairground rides powered by a Showman’s engine. Watch as deliveries are made to the station by steam wagon, traction engine and pantechnicon. On 30 May their Kids for a Quid begins. Any children under 15 travel for £1 with a fare paying adult. It’s Miniature Monday! When the small but mighty traction engines, road rollers and locomotives take over. See scale models of all sizes and marvel at these perfectly formed feats of engineering. Steam hauled passenger trains will be passing through the station and a goods train will be shunting in and out amid the activity. Musical entertainment will feature across the weekend.
