As part of their Centenary Year celebrations, Frensham Heights premiered their new school film on 1st December 2025. At a red-carpet event in the school’s Aldridge Theatre students and staff were the first to see the film that features many of them visually and on the film’s voiceover.
2025 marks 100 years of Frensham Heights School and gives Frensham the opportunity to celebrate the education that made Frensham different, even revolutionary back in 1925, but today as the film quotes “has never felt more relevant”.
In the new film, a student asks the viewer “Have you found it yet?” The film proceeds to take the viewer on a fast-paced, graphically vibrant tour of Frensham today, emphasising what makes Frensham stand out, whilst dispelling misconceptions some may have of the school.
Not every school can claim to have “fancy chickens, ice lollies and rock gigs” sitting comfortably alongside students “heading off to study medicine”. Frensham is a school that encourages students to be creative and curious and champions an environment in which students can be “human, hardworking, happy”.
Having watched the Film premiere in the school’s Aldridge Theatre, excited students shared their reactions. The overriding feedback from all ages is that the film “really shows Frensham as it is” and is “true to our school and shows what we are really about”. This was echoed by a member of staff: “I feel so proud. It just represents us so well”. Junior School students said, “we love it”, “so different than my last school’s video which was just uniforms”, “It is brilliant”, lots of “10 out of 10”s and a Year 5 who insightfully commented “the editing bits (graphics) are really smooth”. All summed up beautifully by a 6-year-old who said, “it was epic”!
Parents were also invited to view the film before it went live on social channels. One commented: “the film really captures the community, creativity and happy, lovely school we know.”
Frensham's Founders, three women who wanted to break the traditional, Victorian, educational mould were passionate about offering an alternative style of education with the child at its heart. A school and a community based on mutual respect, tolerance and generosity of spirit which would educate the whole child – mind, body and spirit. Today, Frensham continues what their Founders started in 1925.
“In a world sometimes filled with worry, we like to find the joy.”
