Helping Families in Surrey Navigate SEND Support
For families raising children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), the Surrey Local Offer is a dedicated online hub offering guidance on services and support available across education, health, leisure, and transport. Whether you're just starting your SEND journey or have been navigating it for years, the Local Offer brings everything together in one easy-to-access place.
With over 17,000 children and young people in Surrey supported by an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), demand for SEND services continues to grow. In response, Surrey County Council has invested over £211 million in specialist school provision since 2021, creating more than 250 new places each autumn. A £15 million recovery plan launched in 2023 and a further £4.9 million investment in 2025 are helping to increase staff capacity and improve support.
These changes are part of a wider journey to improve SEND services. While progress is being made, there’s more to do and families are helping shape that journey. The Local Offer reflects this collaborative approach, offering clear, practical information to help families feel informed and supported.
