Ewell Castle Prep School Crowned 2025 IAPS National Football Champions
Ewell Castle Prep School, based in Ewell village just outside Epsom in Surrey, proudly celebrates its Boys’ U11 Football Team winning the IAPS (The Independent Association of Prep Schools) National Football Championships, emerging victorious from a competition involving over 600 Prep schools across the UK.
The team travelled to Millfield School in Somerset yesterday (Sunday 23rd November), where they competed under the iconic backdrop of Glastonbury Tor. After a day of intense matches, the boys faced a dramatic final - a Surrey derby against Danes Hill School, Oxshott. Although Ewell Castle Prep had beaten Danes Hill earlier in the group stage, the final proved a nail-biting contest.
The match ended 1-1 after full-time, with no golden goals being scored, leading to a tense penalty shootout. Demonstrating composure and teamwork under pressure, Ewell Castle Prep triumphed in penalties to secure the national title.
Head of Prep Sport, Nick Andrade commented: “The boys showed incredible resilience and determination. To win the title is a testament to their character, commitment and teamwork skills. Winning the Nationals is a fitting culmination to such a wonderful season."
