Family Fun Charity Day to Support Fanconi Hope UK and Cancer Research UK

Local resident Lou Allen is organising a Family Fun Charity Day in support of Fanconi Hope UK and Cancer Research UK, two charities that have played a vital role in her family’s life.

Lou’s brother, Stephen, has been bravely fighting cancer alongside Fanconi Anaemia — a rare inherited genetic condition that affects DNA repair. Over the years, Stephen has undergone countless treatments and operations. Inspired by her brother’s strength and determined to make a difference, Lou is hosting this special event to raise funds and awareness for the charities that have supported them.

The Family Fun Charity Day will take place on Sunday 25th May 2025, at Worcester Woods Countryside Park, from 11am to 3pm. Families can look forward to a day packed with entertainment, including a professional face painter, a giant inflatable slide (for both adults and children), outdoor games, and a charity raffle featuring fantastic prizes donated by generous local businesses.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to Fanconi Hope UK and Cancer Research UK. Contributors and supporters will be recognised and thanked in the event programme and publicity materials.

Adding to the occasion, the Mayor of Worcester will be attending to show their support, with the local MP also invited to join the festivities.

Lou said: "As Stephen’s big sister, I’m heartbroken to see him go through so much. While I can’t change his situation, I can do something to help raise awareness and support for others like him. We would love the community’s support to make this day a huge success."
