Experience the real Christmas story and walk with Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem live at Wintershall this Christmas. Follow Mary, Joseph and the donkey on the winding, steep road to Bethlehem. Thursday 16th December – 12.30 Schools Performance & 5 pm Register for the census and journey with other travellers, Roman soldiers and shepherds as you enter the stable to watch the miracle unfold.The 2021 Wintershall Journey combines an interactive promenade with the traditional Nativity play in Holly Barn Theatre, offering an unforgettable experience and bringing the true meaning of Christmas to life for the whole family. Volunteer actors in biblical costumes, alongside a cast of sheep, donkeys, horses and a sheepdog, take the audience on foot from the open air into the candle-lit barn, as the story of how Jesus changed the world unfolds is told with songs and music and joyful carolling. Performances are 90 minutes long and there is free parking. Tickets are priced from £10-£25 with a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) priced at £65. Book early to secure your preferred date and time. Visitors are encouraged to wrap up warmly and to wear suitable footwear for a country walk. Hot drinks and cake are available on 18th, 19th and 20th of December.
