Seaham's FREE annual fireworks display.

To avoid cancellation of this year’s Seaham Fireworks Event the Council has been required to put extra safety measures in place.

The Fireworks Event is being classified as for Seaham Residents Only. The main area (the Marina and the area in front of Asda) will be restricted to Seaham Residents to reduce the traffic congestion on the A19 and around the Town. Free wristband tickets, for the main area are available from:

  • Seaham Town Hall,
  • Seaham Youth Centre,
  • Parkside Community Centre,
  • Dawdon Community Centre, (Collection starts from Saturday 29/10/2022 at Dawdon)
  • Eastlea Community Centre.

Proof of residence will be required to obtain a wristband eg a utility bill or council tax bill. Parents can write their mobile numbers on the back of the wrist bands for their children to help with the process of reuniting them if they get lost at the event.

Wristbands will be checked on site and any attendees without one will be refused entry.  Residents are encouraged to walk and not use their cars as parking will be restricted in most areas, parking cones will be in evidence throughout the town from 10.00am.

Please use the park and walk sites at Spectrum Business Park and the car boot field which have been organised to try and reduce traffic congestion in the town.

Seaham Town Council employs highly visible security staff trained in counter terrorism who will check visitors and their bags as necessary. Road closures will be in place so please expect possible traffic disruption.

Members of the public are reminded that the use of drones during public events is dangerous, therefore the use of drones is not permitted during this event.
