Those six weeks of the school summer holiday stretch out and can pose a childcare challenge for some families. Thankfully there are plenty of appealing options and we’ve taken a closer look at some of them here…
Music and Theatre with The Children’s Theatre Company
The Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) offer weekly drama/musical theatre classes, holiday workshops, fully staged productions and themed/makeover parties.
Working in association with Trinity Guildhall, a leading international awarding body, the weekly Musical Theatre classes cover all three-performance disciplines of acting, singing and dancing. The classes are held on Monday evenings, in central Ipswich for children aged 4-18 years.
Following on from last year’s huge hit production ‘Disney’s Camp Rock’, the CTC are thrilled to be back at the New Wolsey Theatre this year with their production of 'Seussical Jr!' Two performances at 2pm and 6pm will take place on Sunday 17th June at The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich! Tickets are on sale now at The New Wolsey on 01473 295900 or online at www.wolseytheatre.co.uk. For details of how to join the CTC visit www.thechildrenstheatrecompany.co.uk or contact Bridie on 01473 725822.

Book early!
Of course, due to the popularity of these courses and workshops, spaces fill up extremely quickly, so always book early to avoid any disappointment for your child. Also, it’s worth checking to see if your holiday club or play scheme is OFSTED registered as child carers. If they are, and you are working at the same time as your child attends the club, you may be able to get a proportion of the costs paid for by the Childcare element of Working Tax Credit. Go to www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits to find out if you are eligible.
