The Queen Victoria 200 Festival

The Queen Victoria 200 Festival

Saturday 1st June sees the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria, and there will be a special event in Newcastle-Under-Lyme town centre to mark the anniversary in style.

For families, there is the opportunity to take part in Victorian-themed activities and games at the Brampton Museum and Newcastle Library. And for the historians, there is a talk on ‘Victoria the Woman’ and the opening of the ‘Victorian Women and Crime in Staffordshire’ exhibition. Plus, at the New Vic Theatre on the 5th of June, special guest Lucy Worsley shares her insight from her latest book - Queen Victoria: Daughter, Wife, Mother, Widow.

The Queen Victoria 200 Festival is part of a much wider programme of events taking place in Newcastle-Under-Lyme from 24th May to 5th June.
