The AVLR boasts the UK’s premier collection of railway equipment from the First World War, and this weekend is the opportunity to see it at work. WW1-era locos will haul passenger trains. Freight trains will see both ww1-era and military trains from later years demonstrated. Visitors can also tour the replica Trench, and learn a little more about the experiences of soldiers during the Great War. Passenger trains will run from 11.30 to 4pm on both days, with standard fares charged.
