Story Garden: Summer Holidays at the Garden Museum

Head to the Garden Museum this summer for free Holiday Family Sessions exploring ten books included in The Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge 2025. This year the theme is Story Garden with all titles in the list linked to incredible facts and amazing adventures linked to the outdoors.

Participants will have the chance to use microscopes to observe insect wings in magnified detail, make clay minibeasts, and even write their own garden inspired poetry. So, whether you just want to read in the calm and relaxing Nave space, or dive into the science of bugs, there are activities for all the family.

The Garden Museum’s art activities are free and drop in, apart from the workshops for families with neurodiverse needs. These are free but require booking in order to keep numbers at a comfortable level for all.

Activities suitable for children aged 3-12 with their supervising adult, the whole family are encouraged to get involved!

Details of all the activities can be found at www.gardenmuseum.org.uk
