Taunton Brewhouse is inviting supporters to be part of something wonderful as the venue continues preparations for its 50th anniversary in 2027.
Executive Director Vickie Robbins and Chair of Trustees Val Hammond are encouraging supporters to get behind the Brewhouse’s ambitious multi-year renovation programme, ‘Fit at 50’, after successfully securing £527,000 in funding from Arts Council England, alongside £40,000 in earmarked funds.
The project aims to upgrade the lighting systems in both the auditorium and studio spaces with modern, dynamic LED technology that is significantly more energy-efficient, helping to reduce electricity consumption, lower environmental impact and cut long-term operating costs.
The new lighting will also enhance audience experiences by allowing more vibrant, immersive and dynamic productions across theatre, music and comedy events.
The Brewhouse is now aiming to raise the final £20,000 in match funding needed to complete this first phase of improvements by Tuesday 30 June.
Supporters wishing to donate can visit the Taunton Brewhouse website and follow the ‘Fit at 50’ link, or donate directly through the Box Office. Every contribution, large or small, will help support future improvements for audiences and performers alike.
