Outstanding results and a flying start to the year at Eltham College
There was plenty to celebrate this summer at Eltham College as public exam results soared once again.
The College reports that at GCSE, an incredible three in every five grades were the highest possible – 9 – and a quarter of all pupils gained at least nine of them! As a result, Eltham was delighted to be ranked among the top three co-educational schools in the country by The Times in its August GCSE results round-up.
Sixth Formers also excelled, as two-thirds of A Levels were graded A*/A, opening the doors to some of the country's leading universities. The vast majority (85%) secured places at prestigious Russell Group institutions, with destinations including Oxford and Cambridge, Warwick, Bristol, Durham and Imperial.
As September dawned, the school welcomed its wonderful new Year 7 pupils, joining from Eltham's own Junior School and Blackheath Prep as well as primary schools across the region. With the help of team-building games on the fields and house 'family' activities led by Sixth Formers, pupils quickly settled into Senior School life, both within and outside the classroom, and are now busily involved in more than 130 different clubs and co-curricular activities!
Registration to join Year 7 in 2027 is open until 16th November.
