Looking for something creative for the children this half term? The Conservatoire in Blackheath continues its tradition of fabulous art and music classes, this time themed around Autumn Festivals and Halloween.
There are classes fusing their specialist teaching in art and music for 3-5 year olds in The Monster Mash, and 8-14 year olds can create their own stage and prop designs and musical showcase to fill The Haunted Theatre.
Classes range from two hours to full days on topics as varied as lantern crafting, folk costume creation, Wallace and Gromit, magical woodland mobiles, Wicked hats, autumn owls and toadstools. Classes start from age 3 up to specialist classes for 8-14 year olds and will cover a wide range of artistic skills in a stimulating, creative and inclusive environment.
Additional music sessions will teach ukulele, songwriting and band play and on offer is a whole day of themed family classes allowing generations to come together to create Halloween crafts together to decorate the house and take trick or treating.
The Conservatoire forms part of London’s oldest community founded arts centre. In addition to holiday courses, they offer individual instrumental tuition and termly courses across musical and artistic disciplines from the age of six months to adulthood, including their highly-regarded Roundabout and Play! Group instrumental tuition, which you can sample for free on 1st November.
