Exciting times for Year 7 at Eltham College
There is never a dull moment at Eltham College, and its youngest pupils have certainly had an action-packed couple of months.
Lower School pupils put in a brilliant performance in the Junior Maths Challenge ‘Kangaroo’ competition, where they scored an impressive 10 gold, eight silver and 17 bronze awards, with one Year 7 student achieving incredible full marks. They also celebrated the success of their latest drama production, The Tinderbox and Other Tales, performed in-the-round in the school’s theatre.
Sporting successes include the girls’ Year 8 athletics team being crowned Cambridge Cup champions. According to the school, two Year 7 pupils were named Kent Fencing Champions, while in swimming, two Year 7 students together won an amazing 25 medals between them at the Kent County Championships – 16 of them gold!
As term comes to an end, Year 7 now head away on a camping trip to Bentley Copse, having earlier enjoyed a STEM adventure at Williams Racing HQ, where they designed and tested their own model nose cones before putting their driving skills to the test on racing simulators.
Entry to Eltham College is from the age of 7 into its Junior School and 11+ and 16+ into Seniors. Nursery places are also available in sister school, Blackheath Prep.
