Did you know you can play baseball in South East London?
Most people think baseball only exists in America - but it's a global sport with a thriving community right here in the UK. The Greenwich Giants, formed in 2024, are bringing the excitement of baseball to families across South East London.
The Greenwich Giants are a child-centred, family-first club where everyone is welcome, regardless of experience or ability. Baseball is more than just hitting, throwing and catching; it also teaches many transferable skills like teamwork and resilience. Baseball is perfect for kids who haven't found their sport yet - it might be “their thing” if football, rugby, or other traditional sports haven’t clicked.
Free taster sessions are available for children aged 4–12 at the University of Greenwich in New Eltham (SE9). The club’s inclusive coaching staff, which includes former GB coaches, employs a fun, games-based approach to build confidence. Programmes range from dinosaur-themed T-Rex T-Ball (ages 4–7) to competitive Under-12 teams playing throughout London and the South East.
They also run women's and mixed adult sessions - so the whole family can play.
