The Art of Teaching - shortcuts for outstanding teachers by the Times Educational Miscreant

James Andrews
£9.99, Summersdale Publishers

An imaginative unique array of teaching aids to provoke miscreant ideas into the classroom. An inventive way of improving marking times, aid the management of disruptive children whilst allowing the teacher to complete activities quickly and without any problems. This book provides a funny imaginative take on those frequent problems and issues that teachers often face. This could be anything from marking, to behaviour, to improving children’s handwriting to Ofsted inspections. All those challenging events are incorporated into this book from an unprincipled viewpoint. This book highlights a light-hearted take of the teaching world and is a cheeky way of looking at teaching, but all of us know just how challenging this career can be. Unfortunately these shortcuts would not aid teachers but perhaps give children some clever ideas! It is a funny read not to be taken seriously or indeed replicated in the classroom. It would be joyful light-hearted read for many. Reviewed by: Miss C Cassell
