The Wizard of Paws: Blenheim Palace’s DogFest to Crown Top Toto Lookalike

From 12–13 July, Blenheim Palace is hosting DogFest, a high-energy weekend of canine-centric fun, in partnership with Agria Pet Insurance.

Known as one of the UK’s leading dog-friendly festivals, DogFest offers thrilling activities for pets and their humans - from pup pyrotechnics and doggy diving pools to expert-led training sessions, live music, artisan shopping and gourmet street food.

Adding a whimsical twist to the festivities this year is the launch of the Toto Lookalike Contest, inspired by the Oxfordshire UNESCO World Heritage Site’s Christmas 2025 theme for the State rooms: ‘The Palace of Oz’.

As part of the prize, the winning pooch’s owners will win a family ticket to the festive spectacular.

DogFest Event Director Tess Drew says, “It’s such a pleasure to team up with Blenheim for this year’s contest.

“DogFest is all about celebrating our beloved four-legged companions - and what better way than with a nod to one of literature’s most iconic pups?”

Toto, Dorothy and host of other characters will be brought to life though actors, animation and bespoke award-winning props later in the year when Blenheim Palace is transformed into a realm of festive enchantment.

From 14 November - 3 January 2026, visitors will experience the grandeur of Christmas at Blenheim Palace* like never before.

Outdoors, the Illuminated Trail will return with brand-new light installations from world-class artists, guiding guests through a glowing landscape and seasonal spectacle.

Inside the Palace, L. Frank Baum’s beloved story is reimagined as an immersive journey through the stunning State Rooms “The Palace of Oz” inspired by Dorothy’s fantastical adventure.

Look out for Toto, The Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, Witches, Munchkins and more as you journey to the Land of Oz and discover the Emerald City where Dorothy awaits.

Whether you’re celebrating your pup in the summer sunshine or stepping into a dreamlike wonderland of lights and laughter this winter, Blenheim Palace is the place where unforgettable moments begin - and the road to Oz starts with four paws.
