GET YOUR PAWS-PAW-T READY AND FUNDRAISE FOR MAGICAL CHARITY

SUPPORTERS of When You Wish Upon a Star (WYWUAS) can support the national children’s charity even when they are far from home, by taking Wish Bear on holiday with them.

The charity, which grants the wishes of children living with life threatening illnesses, says the popular  toy bear deserves some  time off for all his hard work fundraising.

Getting involved is simple, as Wish Bear even has his own passport – or pass-paw-t and the charity can keep track of the bear’s overseas adventures via social media.

Regional fundraising manager, Nicola Brien said: “Whether you’re going on a two week family holiday, a weekend city break or a special day trip, Wish Bear would love to join you on your travels. All you need to do is buy your very own Wish Bear and set up a JustGiving page to share his travels.

“Over the coming months we hope to see  him visit  different countries and cities across  the globe,  go on all modes of transport and  have his  picture taken at top tourist attractions.”

To acquire your furry travel companion takes just four easy steps. Supporters must set up a JustGiving page, (www.justgiving.com) make a £5 donation, request Wish Bear from the WYWUAS website  then pack him with their luggage.

Holidaymakers and day-trippers are invited to share Wish Bear’s adventures on Twitter and Facebook by uploading pictures of themselves and the bear on their travels.

Nicola added: “The funds raised from your events will help us to continue granting wishes for seriously ill children, which is at the heart of everything we do. It is thanks to the funds raised by our supporters, we are able to grant children’s wishes all year round. It doesn’t matter how much you raise- all donations are gratefully accepted and it is a great way to bring people together and make a real difference to a child in need.”

WYWUAS hosts a number of fundraising initiatives throughout the year, encouraging people to have fun and raise much needed funds helping to grant wishes.
