London Academy of Gymnastics and Dance celebrates 10 year anniversary
In 2009, Jessica, the mother of two young boys, was approached by her former Ballet teacher to take over her adult Ballet classes in North London. As a former Royal Ballet School trained teacher and qualified Gymnastics coach, Jessica agreed. The classes were a big success and were followed by a number of children’s gymnastics classes, and so LAGAD was born. 10 years on, LAGAD has five full time staff, 50 freelancers and now offers classes in North, West and South West London.
Jessica still loves coaching. Her proudest moments have not necessarily been the dizzying heights of LAGAD girls being selected for Team GB or for the World Championships (which have all been great), but when each child achieves their very first cartwheel, handstand or headstand balance. ‘’To see that smile, pride and sense of achievement is my highlight,’’ she commented.
For children aged 3. to 18 years. LAGAD classes include general gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and disability gymnastics, holiday camps and parties.
