Epic CIC getting ready to host annual youth dance event

Epic CIC is getting ready to host “Dance Showdown” – as its members practice their moves, polish their dancing shoes and count down the beats to one of the biggest events in the Epic calendar.

The competition provides a unique and professional platform, in which young people from across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea can showcase their talent and passion for dance. This year’s event will bring together aspiring dancers from all different backgrounds and levels – from beginner to advanced.

The event will take place on Friday July 1st, at the prestigious Cadogan Hall, in Sloane Terrace. The dancers will perform in front of an audience of over 800 people, with 200 children between the ages of 7 -19 years old set to compete alongside the best youth dance companies and guest artists that the UK scene has to offer.

The winners will be given the opportunity to further develop their talents and skills – with classes, workshops, scholarships and awards all on offer. This year’s event is being supported by highly-acclaimed dance organisations such as the Pineapple Performing Arts School, English National Ballet, ZooNation Dance Company, Crew 42, Impact Dance Academy, London Studio Centre and Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Launched in 2011, Dance Showdown has become one of the fastest-growing youth dance events in London.

Brendan O’Keefe, Managing Director of Epic CIC, said: “Dance Showdown has been growing year-on-year. It’s a spectacular event which allows children and teenagers from across the boroughs to showcase their creative talents and realise their potential.”

He continued: “The event has received amazing support since its launch and, along with our partners, we’ve been able to provide thousands of children with the opportunity to pursue their passion for dance.”
