New Boot Camp at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
A new Boot Camp to help people to trim, tone and get fit, is starting this weekend at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre.
Everyone is welcome to give the sessions a try, whatever their fitness level. The one hour outdoor sessions, in small group sizes are ongoing on both Saturday and Sunday mornings between 09:15 and 10:15, and are a great way to start the weekend.
The Saturday Boot Camp takes place at the same time as Athletics Academy, which means they also offer an opportunity for busy mums and dads to give some time for themselves while children can enjoy many of the fun sporting activities the centre has to offer. The Boot Camp costs just £6.50 per session, with a saving of 20% for those who pre-pay for 10 sessions.
Mick Bond, manager of the centre said: “The centre offers people a chance to train at the same venue as GB athletes, with facilities and coaches that are second to none. These outdoor Boot Camp training sessions are led by enthusiastic instructors, who will take people through a range of cardio and high intensity exercises which are designed to tone muscles and improve fitness. I believe anyone taking part will be really inspired by the changes they’ll see week by week!”
The centre also has a special offer for parents training while their children are in the Athletics Academy or Star Track sessions. For just £3 they can use any of the centre’s indoor facilities, free weights, gym, 400m outdoor track or the 600m Trim Trail that runs around the grounds of the venue.
The Athletics Academy offers a great introduction to the sport of athletics. Sessions run throughout term time and include teaching on sprints, hurdles, jumps and throwing events, alongside training to improve strength and fitness.
