Snowdrop Trails In Norfolk 2026

Snowdrops, otherwise known as Galanthus, are often regarded as being the first sign of spring, even though they can start to be seen from late December into January. What is for certain, however, is that walking through the snowdrops and enjoying trails carpeted with them is a lovely activity for families. We have put together some of our favourite locations for family snowdrop walks and trails in Norfolk. Bagthorpe Hall, 4 Main Rd, Bagthorpe, Kings Lynn, Norfolk PE31 6QY.
Opening on 22nd February 2026 from 11am to 4pm as part of the National Garden's Scheme for a circular walk through the grounds, returning through a walled garden.

Blickling Estate, Blickling, Norwich, NR11 6NF.
Take a visit to the winter garden where you will see snowdrops and hellebores appear in January and February.

Chestnut Farm, Holt, Norfolk, NR25 6NX
Open day on 25th January and 22nd February 2026. Visit the mature 3-acre garden with collections of many rare and unusual plants and trees. 100+ varieties of snowdrops, drifts of crocus with seasonal flowering shrubs. £5 for adults. Free for children

Horstead House, Norwich, NR12 7AU
See snowdrops throughout the woodland setting as well as the dogwoods growing on a small island in the River Bure, flowing through the garden. Also, visit the small walled garden. Open day on 14th February 2026 from 11 am to 4 pm with pre-booking available not essential. The cost for adults is £5 with children free. Visits by arrangement are available from 8th to 21st February 2026.

Lexham Hall, nr Litcham, Norfolk, PE32 2QJ.
Snowdrop walks are scheduled to take place on 8th and 15th February 2026 from 11am to 4pm. Children's admission is free. Dogs welcome on leads. Homemade refreshments will be available and plants will be on sale.

Pensthorpe Natural Park, Pensthorpe Road, Fakenham, NR21 0LN.
Snowdrops have already started to appear in their Wave Garden and woodland areas with it being anticipated that their peak will be in March.

Sheringham Park
The Galanthus plicatus 'Upcher' variety of snowdrop features throughout the Park along with other varieties at this National Trust site

Oxburgh Hall
At this National Trust site, visitors can see white snowdrops and bright yellow aconites. You can also venture into the Wilderness, My Lady's Wood and along the north terrace, where thousands of delicate flowers begin to emerge. On selected dates from 3rd February 2026, families can take place in the gardener led tours with will take you to other areas of the snowdrop displays

Walsingham Abbey, Common Place, Walsingham, NR22 6BP
Open for snowdrop walks from 26th January to 1st March 2026 from 10 am to 4 pm daily. See carpets of snowdrops throughout their 18 acres of grounds and woodland and along the banks of the River Stiffkey. A Snowdrop Charity Day in aid of Tapping House is taking place on 14th February 2026
