A Royal Tea Party at Pensthorpe - Saturday 28th May – Sunday 5th June

Head to Pensthorpe this May-half term for a jam-packed activity programme for you and your family to get closer to nature. Celebrate nature’s royalty over the week with a special trail around the park to learn about the kings, queens and blue-blooded creatures in the park. Families can also take part in free activities including pond dipping and arts and crafts, where they can make jubilee flags or nature crowns.

Fairy Fair- 28th and 29th May 2022 at Bradmoor Woods in Norfolk

This magical celebration of nature in spring is designed for families with young children and organised by the conservation charity, The Fairyland Trust.  The whole event is designed to combine nature, arts, crafts, theatre and magical folklore.

Things to do at the event include nature and activity drop-ins , live music, market stalls, a show food and drink as well as festival style walkabout, storytelling and walks in the woods. There will also be bookable workshops focussing on magical nature that can be booked at the same time as booking your tickets online.

Drop in activities include Magical Moths, Beautiful Butterflies for craft lovers as well as opportunities to visit the Fairy King and Queen amongst many others.  The event finishes with a Royal Finale for everyone with an address by the Fairy Queen.  Tickets are just £11.37 including Eventbrite fees and can be booked via the website

 

Alive King’s Lynn Corn Exchange- TOP SECRET - THE MAGIC OF SCIENCE

Tots 2 Teen Activities

Running in all school holidays, Tots2Teens activities are run by Broadland District Council for children aged five to 16 years old. A wide range of exciting and engaging activities are run from community spaces across the district, providing a safe and friendly place for children to come and have fun, make new friends and try something new.

They work with a range of local partners to be able to offer specialised experiences for young people, aiming to be as inclusive as possible.

Half-term at Norfolk Museums, 28 May – 5 June

There’s Platinum Jubilee fun at Norfolk Museums this half-term, including themed trails, crafts and more. Meet a soldier from WWI at Ancient House on 31 May and Charles I at Elizabethan House on 2 June. See regal drama at Norwich Castle on 1 June and try the free ‘Keeping it Regal’, city-wide trail across Norwich from 13 May. There are activities all week at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse as well as a chance to try the new adventure playground.

30 Days Wild

Summer is the perfect season to embrace your inner wild child, and take part in the biggest nature challenge in the UK.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust is inviting you to take part in the Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild campaign, by doing one wild thing every day throughout the month of June.

Join Peppa on her Aquarium Adventure at SEA LIFE Hunstanton!

In a brand new event, Peppa Pig is heading to SEA LIFE Hunstanton for an amazing Aquarium Adventure until 3rd July! Go and meet Peppa as she dives into her adventure and makes friends with some of the oceans most incredible animals. There’s a fun interactive trail where piggies can help spot seahorses, count starfish and learn about how fast sharks can swim.

You can discover an amazing underwater world at SEA LIFE Hunstanton and even visit the seal rescue hospital to see their dedicated animal care team who work with the seals to rehabilitate and release.

Parasquawk’s Flight of Very Fancy Colours at BeWILDerwood Norfolk for May half term! 28th May – 5th June

It’s time to run WILD and fly with the Parasquawks this half term at BeWILDerwood, a place where the whole family can join in all the fun!

Family Theatre Shows at Norwich Puppet Theatre this half term

The Enormous Turnip - 28th May.  One Moment In Time present their own version of this classic folk tale with a magic twist.  The show will feature beautifully hand-crafted puppets and sets, storytelling, live music, songs and lots of joining in.  Recommended for ages 3+. 

Thumbelina - 2nd to 4th June.  Recommended for ages 2+, this adaptation of the classic tale is a gentle introduction to theatre and played amongst gardening tools with traditional glove, rod and shadow puppets.

 

Creative Workshops at Norwich Puppet Theatre

Did you know that the Puppet Theatre offer workshops as well as shows? Their fantastic making workshops for children and families allow participants to create unique and fun puppet characters.

This half term, children aged 6+ can make themselves a four-legged friend. Anything from your pet dog to an elephant!

In celebration of the Jubilee, they are also offering a Royal Families workshop. This session is for ages 4+ and grown-ups to make their own queens, princes and other regal characters ready for a show at home.

Get ready for a Jubilee Journey!

Join Bure Valley Railway this half term for a Jubilee Journey as they celebrate 70 years of Her Majesty the Queen.

Along with a decorated station, there will be a royal activity for the children to complete and FREE Union Jack flags will be given to all of the children to wave out of the windows.

The Bure Valley Railway is Norfolk’s longest Narrow Gauge Steam Railway and operates between the old market town of Aylsham and the bustling Broads towns of Wroxham.All trains have special wheelchair-accessible coaches and disabled toilet facilities at both Stations.  Free parking is also available at both Stations.

On 2nd and 3rd June - Hoveton Hall Gardens will be celebrating all things country and royal with activities for all the family.  Things to do will include craft stalls, falconry, archery, Punch & Judy, soldier re-enactment displays, circus workshops, clay pigeon shooting, vintage games, a fun dog show, a teddy bear's crown treasure hunt and Jubilee craft making activities.  They will also have a range of delicious food stalls but feel free to take your own picnic.
