Family Friendly Films Coming to UK Cinemas in 2026
Looking for family friendly films releasing in 2026? Below is our up-to-date list of kids’ movies and family films scheduled for UK release in 2026, ideal for planning cinema trips, school holiday outings, or building a family watchlist.
The films listed range from animated adventures and fantasy favourites to live-action comedies suitable for all ages. While official age ratings have yet to be confirmed, we’ve selected titles we expect to receive U or PG certificates.

Goat – 13th February 2026
An animated sports comedy set in an all-animal world following Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play ‘roarball’, a sport dominated by the fasted, fiercest animals in the world.
Hoppers – 6th March 2026
The latest Pixar film follows an animal lover named Mabel whose mind is transferred into a robotic beaver in order to communicate with animals and save their habitat from destruction.
The Breadwinner – 13th March 2026
A family based live-action comedy film
The Pout-Pout Fish – 20th March 2026
Two aquatic misfits embark on an impossible journey to save their home in this animated fantasy adventure comedy
The Magic Faraway Tree – 27th March 2026
In newly eagerly awaited fantasy live-action adventure based on the Enid Blyton book series of the same name, a modern family learns to reconnect after being forced to move to the remote British countryside and discover a magical tree where they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – 3rd April 2026
In this upcoming animated adventure comedy film which is a sequel to the hugely 2003 The Super Mario Bros Movie, Mario and Luigi join Princess Peach and Toad on an adventure into outer space and across the galaxy to face off against Bowser’s son, Bowser Jr.
Animal Friends – 5th June 2026
Live action road comedy where two fugitive animals embark on an adventure across America while being pursued by an equally “odd-couple” DEA agent and Fish and Wildlife ranger with something to prove
The popular musical fantasy comedy franchise gets a whole new sequel. Not much is currently known about the plot but you can expect new songs in line with the previous movies
Minions 3 – 1st July 2026
Another film in the Despicable Me franchise arrives this summer with plot details still to be announced
Moana – 10th July 2026
The latest Disney film to get the live-action treatment. Prompted by a summons from the ocean, the titular character departs her home island of Motunui for the first time and travels past its barrier reef. Accompanied by the demigod Maui, she undertakes a voyage aimed at recovering the well-being of her community
Toy Story 5 – 19th July 2026
In the latest edition of the much-loved franchise, we join , Jessie who has led the charge since Woody left Bonnie to help abandoned toys find owners in Bonnie's room, with Buzz Lightyear as her second-in-command. However, an eight-year-old Bonnie has become enamoured of her new favourite plaything, a frog-like tablet named Lilypad
Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie – 14th August 2026
In the third Paw Patrol film based on the Dino Rescue sub-theme of the main show, the characters face dinosaurs on an unchartered island.
Coyote vs Acme – 28th August 2026
This long awaited live-action/animation hybrid comedy film finally gets a release this summer. After every product made by the ACME Corporation has backfired on Wile E. Coyote in his pursuit of the Road Runner, down-and-out human billboard attorney Kevin Avery represents Coyote in a lawsuit against Acme. A growing friendship between Coyote and Kevin motivates their determination to win the court case, as it pits them against Buddy Crane, the intimidating boss of Kevin's former law firm, who now represents Acme
Forgotten Island – 25th September 2026

The Cat in The Hat – 6th November 2026

Hexed – 25th November 2026
New animated film from Disney following an awkward teenage boy and his mother who discover what makes him unusual, might just be magical powers that will turn their lives and a secret world of magic, upside down.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Getaway – December 2026 (Disney +)
New animated adaptation of the twelfth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series which sees Greg and his family flying to a resort for Christmas.
The Angry Birds Movie 3 – 23rd December 2026
No plot details are currently known about this animated comedy sequel based on the video game series.
Air Bud Returns – date TBC
The latest film in the Air Bud series sees 12-year-old Jacob, coping with his father's death, moves with his mother to Fernfield, Washington. There, he finds a VHS copy of Air Bud and befriends a strayGolden Retriever named Buddy. Together, they join local children to form a basketball team and compete for a championship

Animated fantasy film following Prue McKeel and her classmate Curtis Mehlberg as they are drawn into a hidden magical forest near Portland in an attempt to save Prue's kidnapped infant brother Mac from the crows, who are led by a mysterious woman named Alexandra.

This animated retelling of the classic Cinderella story focuses on the ‘evil stepsisters’ on a mission to work together to save the kingdom
Swapped – date TBC (Netflix)
A small woodland creature and a majestic bird, two natural sworn enemies of The Valley, that magically trade places and set off on an adventure of a lifetime.
