Extra swimming lessons could save lives

Learning to swim is a vital life skill which every child should experience.

Swimming lessons at The Reef Leisure Centre in Sheringham and Victory Swim and Fitness Centre in North Walsham help children to have fun and be active, as well as giving them the ability to get out of potentially dangerous situations.

The need for extracurricular tuition is clear, with Sport England stating that nearly one in three children leave primary school unable to swim 25m unaided.

Everyone Active can help your child to learn a skill which could save lives, thanks to its award-winning learn to swim programme.

The programme offers lessons for all ages and abilities, with child classes starting at four months, right through to adult classes. All swimming teachers are Swim England level 2 – or equivalent – qualified.

All stages are progressive and continually assessed. Children also have the opportunity to develop water safety skills and to take part in other aquatic disciplines.

Work continues on the construction of a state-of-the-art, 25m pool at Fakenham Sports and Fitness Centre, which is expected to open later this year.

To find out more about swimming lessons, visit everyoneactive.com/centre/ or phone your local centre.

Egg-Zam season is nearly upon us!

With SATs just around the corner, even the distraction of chocolate and the Easter break can’t quite mask the pressure children feel—especially those who are struggling to keep up. If your child is finding it difficult to perform, dyslexia could be the underlying cause. The good news? Screening is straightforward. You can get professional results in a single appointment, often on the same day. To help you get ahead before the term starts, the Indigo Dyslexia Centre is staying open throughout the Easter holidays.

We are children’s mental health specialists with years of experience in statutory services, and we’ve seen too many parents left waiting while problems grow. We believe that when families ask for help, they need it now. Tend provides easy-to-access support, including weekly donation-based drop-ins and groups on anxiety, cooperation, and difficulties related to neurodivergence or sensory differences. As a Community Interest Company, we reinvest all profits to make high-quality support affordable and widely available, so families can get help as soon as they need it.”
