Liverpool kids given unforgettable footballing experience at Anfield

Watch our video to see children from disadvantaged backgrounds given a unique opportunity to walk out alongside their footballing heroes at Anfield Stadium in the UEFA Europa League Semi-Final

Children from a local community club were given the experience of a lifetime as they led their Liverpool FC heroes onto the pitch for the team’s UEFA Europe League Semi-Final against Villarreal at Anfield.

The children, from disadvantaged backgrounds, were given the opportunity as part of a scheme to give over 100 children in Europe the chance to meet their football idols and be a part of match day.

As the main sponsor of the UEFA Europa League, FedEx has donated its entire allocation of player escort places to the UEFA Foundation and Street Football World, who have identified 110 children from community football clubs in Liverpool, Seville and Basel to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The clubs all work with children from underprivileged backgrounds and use education, support and development through football to give the youngsters a better chance in life and drive social change.

This is the first time that a sponsor has handed across its sponsorship assets to a charity partner in their entirety at the Semi-Final and Final stage for either the UEFA Europa League or the UEFA Champions League.
