The Castle’s in house medieval re-enactors have been on pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady in Gesmuth (that’s Jesmond to you & me). Having paid their respects to Our Lady they’re heading back in a rowdy rabble towards Newcastle Castle, over the Town Moor & down the ancient Pilgrim Street! They’ll be setting off from St Mary’s Chapel in Jesmond Dene at about 11am & making their way back to the Castle. They’re hoping to arrive at the Cathedral sometime before 1pm, & then head back to the Castle for about 1:30pm. If you want to join them en route feel free! Alternastively visit the Castle to make your own medieval Pilgrim’s Badge whilst the resident medieval chef will be cooking up something tasty food for the Pilgrims return.
