Blyth will host the town’s first-ever Festival of Energy – a four-day celebration of Blyth’s heritage, its people, & its role as a global leader in renewable energy. This FREE festival will fill the town’s streets, quayside, & public spaces with large-scale artworks, performances &d immersive experiences inspired by the sea, wind, moon and earth. Highlights include Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon & Gaia installations shown together for the very first time, Walk the Plank’s Tower of Light, bringing the quayside to life with light, fire & special effects, and the life-sized Whale Song projection at the point where the River Blyth meets the sea. Workshops, talks, & behind-the-scenes access at Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult’s extraordinary testing facilities provide imaginative ways for all ages to engage with the festival.
