A Magical Adventure in Pantomania
Step into a whole new world of pantomime this festive season when Newcastle Theatre Royal presents a sparkling, all-new version of Aladdin! This year’s show is extra special, as it marks 20 years of panto magic with the much-loved duo Danny Adams and Clive Webb, who have been entertaining families on Grey Street for two whole decades. Get ready for lots of laughs, some spectacular songs and plenty of surprises in a pantomime like no other.
North East born Director Michael Harrison’s exciting retelling of the classic tale whisks audiences away to the Royal Kingdom of Pantomania where a whole host of fairytale characters come together in a pantomime for the 21st century. Expect wicked witches, dancing geese, and of course, one very magical flying carpet! Aladdin’s quest for the magical lamp will take you on an amazing adventure. Good will triumph over evil - but not before the Theatre Royal stage bursts to life with fabulous sets, dazzling costumes and plenty of pantomime mayhem along the way.
The cast is jam-packed with Theatre Royal favourites, including Danny and Clive who will be performing alongside Chris Hayward as the hilarious Mother Goose, Joe McElderry as the Spirit of the Ring, Mick Potts as the ever-cheeky Genie of the Lamp, Wayne Smith as Old King Cole, Rachel Stanley as The Witch and Billy-Kay as Princess Jasmine. They’re all bursting with talent, and are guaranteed to have the audience clapping, booing, cheering and singing along.
The Newcastle Theatre Royal pantomime is famous for its hilarious comedy, jaw-dropping costumes, and magical moments that both children and grown-ups will never forget. With brand-new sets designed especially for this production, you’ll feel transported straight into the heart of Aladdin’s magical adventure.
Aladdin promises to be a “Genie-us” pantomime, and with plenty of very old jokes, it’s perfect for the whole family!
