Summer Learning

What an unprecedented year this year has been for teachers, parents and pupils alike. The cancellation of summer exams for two consecutive years and the challenge of home schooling and online learning has certainly not been dull. As the Summer Holidays are nearly here, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Time to relax, watch TV, play on the play stations and take life much slower……. Perhaps we will be able to enjoy sunnier days and be able to socialise a little more. The summer is also a good time to look at the learning gaps that the disruption to the school routine last year has left and get ahead without the pressure of a school day as well. Some students may benefit from consolidating missed learning and getting ahead with the following academic year’s work.

Has your child mastered the skills they need to move to a new class, a new school or perhaps they will have exams to sit next summer?

What can you do to help?

Find creative ways to keep them learning, cooking, reading, art, nature walks, ask them to keep a diary, write a blog, record a video diary, Science experiments are all great to keep your child’s brain active and engaged. This year we have added book club, art, Science experiments and computer coding to our summer learning programme. We help students Catch up, Keep Up and Get Ahead in their learning.
